About Chapin Park
small shelter holds 25-30 people, 222 W. Chapin Street
Chapin Park is located in the heart of Morris. It has a classic town square feel. Located at the corner of Chapin Street and Wauponsee Street, Chapin Park is the oldest park in the city. It was enclosed as a park in 1854. This park features large mature trees throughout, gazebo, several playground stations, restrooms, and memorials for fallen police patrolman, Clarence R. Roseland and fallen firefighter, James Allen. In the winter, the city lights up the park for the holiday season which creates a magical, winter atmosphere.
