Welcome, from the Mayor of Morris Illinois.

Located 60 miles Southwest of Chicago, Morris is the county seat for Grundy County. It’s a thriving community with a population of nearly 14,000 – and it continues to grow.

Our community is fortunate to have an exceptional quality of healthcare provided by Morris Hospital and Healthcare Centers, as well as top-notch educational services for our young people. There are many opportunities for residential and commercial development within our boundaries here in Morris. Located just off Interstates 80 and 55, as well as the Illinois River, our community is ideally situated for growing businesses and industry.

Additionally, our historic downtown, situated along the I&M Canal, provides a unique shopping experience. With a wonderful combination of friendly neighborhoods, beautiful parks, festivals and river fun – Morris is a gem! Plenty of first-rate community events and festivals – like the Grundy County Corn Festival – are a tradition and are celebrated here throughout the year.

Come and see for yourself why we are proud to call Morris home. It’s a community Norman Rockwell would have loved!
